Well, are you ready? The 3 most important things You must do to increase your sales are…
You’ve probably heard the old public speaking concept of:
“tell them what you’re going to tell them”
And “tell them what you told them”
Or something like that.
That’s very similar to what your prospects and customers want as well. To put it simply, they want you to give them the answers.
Oh come on, what’d you think that they actually wanted to figure stuff out on their own. Heavens no – why would they be giving you money then. As Bill Glazer likes to say, “they don’t want you to teach them how to fish, they just want the damn fish.”
And in making a buying decision it is no different.
You will make more money, convert more prospects, and altogether live a less frustrated life if you exert more control over your prospects and customers!
Okay, I think you are ready.
Here they are –
1 – You must tell your prospects HOW they should FEEL
2 – You must tell your prospects WHAT they should DO
3 – You must tell your prospects WHY they should BUY
Tomorrow, I’m going to let you listen in on a brief talk I gave to our Chapter Plus and Mastermind Members where I elaborate on this concept and I tell you straight up why You and just about every “sales guy or girl” has got it all wrong… always has and always will so long as they (and you) keep thinking and selling in the wrong way with the wrong approach.
Most people do it all backwards… letting the prospects be in control, pfui, who’s the expert here anyhow.
Listen in tomorrow and I’ll all start to make sense.
Let me emphasize this point, if they knew what to do, how to feel and why to buy, they certainly wouldn’t need you selling them now would they.
So, I challenge you, double dog dare you, draw a line in the sand in front of you, and say You’ve got to stop wasting your selling opportunities, you’ve got to stop leaving it up to your prospects, and your money and income up to chance.

It doesn’t take a whole lot to fascinate me because I just love exploring new places, but to say Boston was interesting would be an understatement.
I’ll get to a business, money, marketing lesson in just a minute, but you really don’t want just another tip, do you, you want to hear about my trip.
The highlights – other than a wonderful new relationship with a client who I told you about last week, and a very successful event (meaning sign-ups and money), on Friday – I spent the rest of the time doing what any savvy entrepreneur with two days of ‘sightseeing’ would do, try to get into some trouble.
I managed to find what had to be the cabbie with the most knowledge and history about the mafia and their current happenings (yes, they still exist) in the city who gave me the low down on several top joints to go to in “Little Italy” or the North Shore, I think.
Whenever I go somewhere I look for the most interesting tours, because in general I try to avoid anything that any other tourist would do. As example in Chicago there is a very fun and informative Gangster Tour… so when I ask the Cabbie for some input on something like this, he quickly responded, “man, mafia, you crazy, no tour, stay the f’ away from those guys.”
Anyhow – After my last latte from Starbucks after my meeting we managed to avoid any chain of any sort, until we hit the airport Monday morning.
Friday night we went where the cabbie told me and sure enough, it’s was amazing and run by the mafia. Oh don’t ask me how I knew, it was obvious. Partly because everybody in there knew everybody else, but it was more the feel in the environment and the owner of the place who was a great host, and very familiar feeling to say the least.
For dessert we found one, two, three, no, probably 5 different pastry shops, which I guess is something Boston is famous for… they all seemed to be owned by the same people, in one way or another, but they were incredible, so we did what any good capitalist would do, we bought something from every one of them.
One of the coolest things I noticed was big hand written signs in most of the shops and low-ticket-item-places, such as the pastry shops and a few other, that said CASH ONLY.
When talking with a old-timer from the area, he said they just started doing that a year ago or something like that. And I thought, well of course they did, these people are the real deal, their resourceful. They don’t care about the credit card processing fee, I figure it’s their way of protecting their territory, something to do with paying hide and seek with the government, if you know what I mean. The lesson, they all followed suit…
On to something else I found very cool. It happened first when I met Stever and his team, I either mentioned to him or someone the night before about “being in Boston” and they said, “you mean Charlestown”, and then “Cambridge”, and so on and so forth.
If you’ve not been there, Boston is made up of many different cities, but believe me, these aren’t just suburbs, they are their own special places with their own character and distinct places, personalities, and people.
Each very proud of where they live and where they call home.
And, by the way, that’s the moral of the story – You want to give your customers a place they call “home” when doing business with You. I often teach people that it doesn’t matter what You say about your business, it matters what your customers say about it. That’s the true test of a “unique selling proposition” You’ve got to be unique, not just another ‘whatever’. And what you do, how you communicate it, represent it, and share it with your customers is critically important.
It’s the magic behind marketing and the experience you give them.
Same reason we always go looking for “local” places to patronize and experience, because it’s where you find the unique spots, the special people, the things that make the city – the city.
Are you doing enough to create your own Character, your own feel, environment, and special Place your customers go out of their way to experience and talk about – probably not, none of us do.
So go to work on it will ya.
And go to Boston sometime, I know I’ll be back.
PS – I did manage to track down an old Mafia Headquarters and got a picture of the front door, I haven’t figured out how to get it off my phone yet, and it was dark, but it’s 98 Prince St, if you must know.

First, fresh off a very successful October Chapter Event last Friday, I’d like to give a shout out to all (very smart) New Members!!! It’s been a very busy time at the No BS Indy headquarters and we’ve got a lot of great things happening… including a whole bunch of members finding fast success with fast action. As example, this months Marketer of the Month winner, who you’ll have to wait and see in this our Marketing Video of the Month…
Chip Kessler, author along with Dan Kennedy of the MAKING THEM BELIEVE gave great insight into what it takes to get more customers buying. He highlighted authority, talked about how to make price of no importance, and emphasized the necessity of systems.
He gave an unprecedented special opportunity to invest in this entire MAKING THEM BELIEVE archives, audio CDs, and in-depth study program. If you missed the event or left without action, I suppose you could email Ryan and beg him to buy. At least you should go to Amazon and get Chip’s Book.
Second, as I write this, I’m en route to Boston for a very exciting trip… including a day of consulting with a new client, a one-day seminar event for another client, and 2 days of sightseeing, exploration, fine dining, and just plain old enjoyment of a City I’ve not yet been to – I just love to go to new places – I’m really excited for Boston!
So, before I tell you ‘the secret’ I just want to say, now is an amazing time to be an entrepreneur. I’ve got more clients starting more new endeavors, finding customer and money quickly, and looking to aggressively expand — than I’ve seen in at least the past 2 years. It’s obviously not because the economy is making it all possible – it’s because THEY are making it possible, and choose to MAKE success and money happen.
Let me reassure you, there is no other place that you can be plugged into that will force you to results, and lead you to your business dreams, than our group. Being plugged into with me, and into Dan and Bill, is the smartest thing You can do – PERIOD. Our secret society of entrepreneurs are kicking government and economic ass and taking money to the bank.
If I were going to give you two secrets today, the other one would be “environment”! It really is so much about where you hang out and who you hang around…
Now, for your secret, and a solution…
The difference between those who are success and those who are not, is in how much stuff they get done. It really is that simple. Those who make more money, get more done.
How people spend their time (or waste, probably better choice of words) tells you a lot about how serious they are about achieving their goals, making money, and actually, tells you a lot about them as a person, in general.
There are a too many reasons here to list on why people don’t get things done. Including, lack of confidence, belief, motivation, discipline, and on and on… which is all the reasons why you need your monthly dose of Marketing and Money Making Medicine at our Chapter Event.
This week though, I’ll give you some practical advice, by way of my new client who I’m visiting with in Boston, tomorrow.

Okay, I’m ready to get on the place, armed with my October No BS Marketing Letter in hand…

In our discussion I ask him what he thought was the BIG Secret to making it BIG, and how others got their got their start which he’ll be emulating on business principles so to speak.
His answer without hesitation was – “You have to look like You’re already there!”
Now, stop, go back, reread that sentence. Because it’s more profound than on the surface of those 8 words – “You have to look like you’re already there.”
He’s dead on, not just for his business and success, but for Yours too.
And, of course “look” is the giveaway here, because it translates to look, feel, act, BE, as if you’re already there. Already where You want to be.
Not even Simon Cowell can MAKE an artist, unless they are one.
When I got my first ‘high dollar’ (at the time) client, I immediately went out and bought a Lexus, had to do it, because I needed the look the part. Now, there’s enough other stuff around me and no need for new clients, I could take the frugal wealth appearance approach and be fine.
Back to my Rock Star coaching member, he and his wife both emphasized that people want him to BE the Rock Star and that he’s always got to be performing, ESPECIALLY when he’s not on stage.
People want the experience, they want You to be the best, biggest, baddest: choice, option, service, business, person so they can share stories about you, tell people about you, and feel better about themselves because of You.
If you really want to make it big and sustain success, You’ve got to be a Rock Star in your business and for your customers.
It’s starts, not ends, but starts with You creating, living, perceiving, believing, acting, and BEING as though You are already where You want to be.
