Whether or not you’ll be ‘trick or treating’ with your kids, or attending parties yourself, this Halloween, let this Holiday remind You about one of the scariest traits that continues to sabotage your success.

Let’s put it this way, if there is a Black Cat and it represents our ‘superstitions’ then Perfectionism is the one that lives forever, and ever, living to haunt you again and again.

What do I mean by that –

Well, this past Friday at our Chapter Event, we had a long time member, very wonderful and fun person, all though, very strange, because his name is Joe – Strange, he owns and operates the Mystery Café (learn about it at http://www.themysterycafeindy.com, …stand up and rattle off three things he’s now doing to grow his business.

And, to be honest, he said it with great pride, and more enthusiasm than I’ve seen him talk amongst the group, in a while. For good reason – because he’s “take action successes and executions” are worth of feeling good about it.

Because he broke through this superstition of Perfectionism.

Now, whether you like it or not, believe in it or not, the Dictionary says the word superstition equals “irrational belief”.

And that’s exactly why I call Perfectionism this.

The real evil power behind this word and feeling is F E A R!

So, that’s why I say, it’ll kill Your goals, dreams, success, and money flow faster than anything else. In fact, you’ll just be another victim to it’s blood sucking powers.

Once you learn to break through the Superstition of Perfectionism and conquer your Fear, you’ll find as “bad luck” is attracted to the Black Cat, all the good luck, opportunity, and money will be attracted to you!

Just think about it for a moment – if you’d like, make a list of everything You continue to put off, things you think about, then discount with a ‘real’ reason.

Are their actions or ideas you hesitate on.

Ventures or relationships you avoid.

Opportunities you waster or ignore.

Money you leave on the table.

You can say, all you want, that your inaction¸ is because you “want it all to be perfect” but you’d be wrong – believe me – I, we, are all alike, that’s why us Entrepreneurs have got to stick together, at least if we want to reach our ultimate potential, it’s impossible if left to our own demise.

It’s all about Fear.

That’s why it is important that you have your list of Spells, Tricks, Potions, Treats, and the like – all the ways you break through it.

Over and over again – when ever it Crosses you and Your mind crosses it!

There are obvious ways to break through it.

The way Mr. Strange has done it – a couple ways that I’ll speak on his behalf are

  1. being around other entrepreneurs, month in and month out
  2. expecting more from himself and his business
  3. reading his No BS Newsletter
  4. constantly thinking about the possibilities and opportunities
  5. just doing it and letting the results be the judge
  6. playing the game ONLY to win

Now, You’re wondering what exactly he has done.

For starters,

- he’s began sending regular emails to his Customer Database.

- He now captures the names of his guests for future follow-up

- He’s send paper and ink letters with promotions to his best customers

Now, whether or not that impresses You, doesn’t matter, what does, is that you ask yourself the question, HOW OFTEN ARE YOU DOING EACH OF THESE?

And, then, of course, remember back, before You were, if you are, and how big a break through it was for you!

Fear of results or lack their of.

Fear of opinion of other people.

Fear of failure.

Fear of feeling bad.

Fear of loss of money.

All of these and more play into our belief system.

Here’s my suggestion this Halloween, get focused around

FEAR of losing Opportunity

FEAR of losing Time

FEAR of losing the Money You should be Getting

FEAR of moving Slow

And get focused around these Fears that will drive you through Perfectionism and straight to the realization of your goals.

Leverage Points

These are typically assets that exist in your business, not being fully exploited, that could produce additional income or, as the word says, LEVERAGE.

Think – “what else can you sell your list of customers”

The LIST being the Leverage Point.

It could be something or someone you have access to. Usually is it something you can replicate or use in a different way in addition to the way ‘whatever’ is being utilized for now.

Multipliers

A Multiplier is often a way to increase your transaction size, customer value, or conversion. Adding an upsell or premium version to your business. The use of video on your website. Selling in Seminar format versus one-on-one. All forms of multipliers. They “multiply” your results.

The best things about multipliers is that the efforts compound. The more the better. You’ll find these by doing what I always talk about, MORE BETTER FASTER – when you think about these, you’ll find multipliers.

Breakthroughs

Boy oh boy, here’s what every one is looking for – the BIGGER the better. The thing is, breakthroughs don’t always have to be big. In fact, often times, breakthroughs first occur in your THINKING, your VIEWPOINT, your OPINION of something.

The best way to trigger breakthroughs is through IDEAS, exposure to SUCCESS Environments, the rapid and aggressive acquisition of knowledge.

Re-Invention

Now this one is Fun, really fun, life changing fun! Re-Invention is the most common thing that our Members and especially my Mastermind and Private Coaching Members, experience.

Game Changers

Last but certainly not least – GAME CHANGERS – I love the word, because it implies it can happen at any time…and you often don’t know when or how.

They can, of course, be good or bad.

You identify Game Changers by always being alert, open to, and realistic about options in your business.

For many, such as two of my top Private Clients, the Game Changer for them was taking “their way of doing business” and selling it as opportunity to others in their Industry. Giving them, over time, more residual income from area-exclusive fees in a month than they used to work 60 hours a week painfully for in their businesses.

The other thing to understand is that any of the above could be a Game Changer, if you handle it property and are ready for it.

The only way to know for sure is to have access to and support from a team of people who are dealing with the same stuff you are and would be familiar to your situation.
