Live from Baltimore…
Posted in: Blog by scott_manning on February 25, 2009
Hello, I hope this finds you doing well – believe me when I say, I’m looking forward to seeing you this Friday, and being back in Indiana. (I may not say that often, but this week, I mean it.)
As I write to you, I’m coming off 2 amazing days of listening and learning from Bill Glazer and Lee Milteer at the Peak Performers International Coaching Group Meeting.
It, as normal, has been amazing and I’m bringing back some awesome marketing and money making ideas, strategies, and action steps to my Private Clients, Coaching and Mastermind Teams, and to all our local Chapter Members!
In fact, as example, I’ve got in my hands, straight from Bill Glazer, “9 Recession Rescue Strategies” as a taste of what’s to come at this years Super Conference, he gave us this list and I’m going to pass it along to you as a Bonus Gift for your attendance at this months GKIC Indy Chapter Meeting, happens this Friday, last minute registration at www.NoBSIndy.com/ChapterMeeting
Today, I’m busy working hands on with 8 of the Peak Performers Members in their Mastermind Day, the only day they get all year to do this, and I’m excited to help lead them in profitable directions – ‘phenomenon style’ – actually, this is about the highest honor a Business Advisor can get, to be a Peak Performer Mastermind Mentor of Bill, Lee, and Dan’s International Coaching Members, I’m honored.
And with your help, I can achieve the top honor of having Dan and/or Bill actually attend our Local Chapter live and in person, which can be accomplished by continuing to grow our Local Group…if meeting Bill and Dan live and seeing them right here in Indy, then jump into our Referral Contest, it’s not too late, invite some friends who can truly benefit from our group.
Friday’s going to be a blast, I hope you’re there!
You’re probably still wondering why on earth I’m so anxious to get back to Indiana.
Let me put it this way, just another week of ‘life’, which we all have, of course, and I’m ready to get back to home base, that’s all.
This week, while I’m gone for 3 days, and have 2 jammed packed days of Seminars and Client meetings on Thursday and Friday as soon as I hit the runway back in Indy, there is stuff flying around all around me.
I’m meeting with a buyer and attorneys late Thursday night to finalize a sale of a chunk of one of my businesses.
Thursday through Saturday, people are moving one of my businesses, for me to show up Saturday in hopes of it all being done.
I’m meeting with 2 new potential clients, with significant possibilities.
Of course having our double header Chapter Meetings.
Assisting John with 2 Business to Business Seminars on Thursday.
I am knee deep in completing a continuity launch for a Client that should drive at least six figures, maybe closer to a quarter million in continuity at week one.
Two other projects to complete next week.
Our Celebrity Project with 10 authors to finalize by Friday evening.
My significant other started a new project / position out of state or four day work week this week, meaning kids in the hands of my parents and their own responsibility.
Anyhow, I tell you this not to impress you, overwhelm you, or for any other reason, other than to say – it’s life as an Entrepreneur.
And the bottomline is, if there isn’t more on your ‘to do’ list than you can handle, and an ever growing list of on the ‘done’ list, then you just are doing enough!
To put this all in perspective, one of my ‘friends’ and long time Black Belt clients at our Martial Arts School, their 5 year old daughter passed away in a car accident Sunday. I’ve dedicated significant phone time to him while traveling each day, help coordinate arrangements, organize some of my staff and others to assist and be available.
Again, it puts everything in perspective. We all hope to not receive this type of ‘reality adjuster’ and I pray for his family and all families who encounter the worst that can possibly occur.
With that said, almost sounds sad to say know, none the less, I will be putting this who ‘recession’ thing in perspective, and the accomplishments you are striving for in reality, I’m going to give you exactly what you need to profit now, and take care of your customers like never before…
You’ll walk away with money ready to be made and ideas in full motion, strategies executed.
This Friday, help me finish my rollercoaster week of life, the way it ought, helping you move beyond your roadblocks, and straight toward your goals and desires giving you the lifestyle and significance you deserve.
See back in the Hoosier State.

2 Choices and 3 Types of People
Posted in: Blog by scott_manning on February 18, 2009
A little saying I first learned from a Martial Arts Master who was and still is forward thinker in the Industry, said, certainly not unique to him:
“There are 3 types of people in the world, those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who say ‘what happened’.”
Today I want to share with you the ONLY 2 choices you have as to which type of person you are going to be! First, let me tell you why this is on my mind…
This past Monday I showed up at the one Martial Arts School that I still own, as a guest Instructor, actually, in Martial Arts I’m what we call the “Master Instructor” even though I’m not running the school, I’m still considered the Leader. None the less, while I’m around from time to time and at certain events, I don’t get back in uniform and on the mat very often especially to the “general” student body.
I found it refreshing and it reminded me of what I enjoyed so much before and what I dedicated the first part of my life to, and over a decade of my initial life as an Entrepreneur came from the very position I played Monday Night.
That position was one of influence, power, authority, and leadership.
Of course that was on the mat, but when it came time to ‘make the money’ all of those same things came into play in for the form of SELLING! In fact, as we all so often joke, we are always selling.
But this is not just a cliché – it’s true. Life is one long (or not so long, depends on how you view it) Sales Presentation. Just, sometimes the end result or objective isn’t the transaction of money. That’s the only difference.
Anyhow, Monday coincidently gave me a wonderful opportunity to tie into President’s Day and the lessons we can all take from the honoring of our Country’s Leaders long ago through to the present day.
The lesson I told the Martial Arts Students of all ages on Monday Night, just like selling, applies to everyone at every moment.
I told them we, as people, only have 2 choices to make…
We can be a Leader
Or We can be a Follower
We can Influence
Or We can be Influenced
Now in the Martial Arts School this message is obvious, but I’m going to clarify something, we are ALL both of these, Leaders and Followers, and we all give and receive Influence.
What’s important is that we CHOOSE when, where, who, how, and why.
So as kids, Parents and Teachers are leaders, kids follow. But if the right traits, strengths, and characteristics aren’t instilled into the kids who are following –
They never stop following…following their life away.
What we do in the Martial Arts and what is so important as an Entrepreneur is that you choose to be the Leader in your life, in your business, in control of your results and outcomes. You must be the leader to your own dreams and desires otherwise you’ll end up just being a part of someone elses.
You’re reading this, so we know you’re in the right place, and I’m only half joking – I’m serious.
You follow the Lead of the Masters of Business, Bill Glazer and Dan Kennedy, You follow my lead, you follow others.
But then what do you do with what you learn, with what I share with you, with all the knowledge and experience you gain?
Are you leading your life – or is someone or something else – leading you.
I hope this is making sense and hitting home with you.
I remember hearing Tony Robbins on a recording, say something like this, “you know when they came out with the group who says TGIF, ‘Thank God It’s Friday’, I can’t imagine living for one day out of every seven, then on that one day, people do things to their minds and bodies that they can’t even remember what they were waiting for, living for one day.”
Point is, control of your life, your business, your dreams, what are you doing today to take you closer to your objectives and your goals. Who are you investing time with, investing money with, learning from?
How are you setting yourself up to succeed – to make sure you’re leading your life!
Without a doubt, the very best thing you can do right now, is commit to pushing your business and your life to new levels, learning and implementing, setting yourself up for success.
I show you exactly how to ‘lead your way’ to riches in your business, to more customers, to less stress and frustration, each and every month at our local GKIC Indy Chapter meeting, you can register now at www.NoBSIndy.com/ChapterMeeting
Rest assured there are only 2 choices.
Lee Milteer says “there are no victims only volunteers”
No matter who the president is or was, our founding fathers and all that have passed through since them, hold certain characteristics, the same thing I learned through the martial arts:
Influence
Power
Authority
Leadership
And of course they had to know how to sell, themselves, the country, ideas!
As I said before, 3 types of people,
Those who MAKE thing happen
Those who WATCH things happen
And Those who SAY “what happened”
We’re making things happen each and every at our GKIC Indy Chapter Meeting, and I want you to join us, this month, and step up to yourself, for your business, and Lead the way for your family and your life!
Make things happen now.

Action creates opportunity, Decisiveness builds character, and Choosing gives you control…
Are You Playing To Win?
Posted in: Blog by scott_manning on February 11, 2009
There’s a saying I learned from my Instructor, we call him Grandmaster, which is his level in the Martial Arts. He is from Korea and as you probably know, Martial Arts is a whole lot about Philosophy and Principles.
Once he told us a story about a Famous and Successful Korean War General who lived this philosophy:
“If you fight the war to save your life, you will die”
“If you fight the war with your life, you will survive”
Now, obviously, in war, there isn’t much that’s predictable, other than the possibility of death. None the less, the significance here is how the philosophies relate to Life and in our case, Business.
Think about the saying…
What it means is that if you hold back, you will lose.
I could elaborate an entire book about this ideal, for today the short version and the obvious application.
In life, you never know when it’s going to end, all be over, just as in this case, with war, as the saying goes. And because of this unpredictability with life, why leave anything on the table…memories, things left undone, time with loved ones, showing of love and care and generosity, etc.
The point is “live it while you’ve got it” and as Robin Williams said in the Dead Poet’s Society – “suck all the marrow out of life…carpi deim!”
About Business, here’s a couple practical examples, then I’ll share with you why I chose to mention this philosophy today.
First, during the recession, or anytime for that matter, why would you slow down, or cut back your lead generation or advertising. If you cut back on the things that bring you customers and money, especially in a down time, well for goodness sake, you’re are already getting less because of the “economy” so why set yourself up to get even fewer.
Same concept, why fight the war to stay alive, surely you will not, you will fail and lose. You must fight the war, fight the recession, the economy, the competitors, with all you’ve got – fight with your life – you will surely stay alive and it’s the only chance at actually winning.
Next, so many people try to go as cheap as possible in communicating with their customers, in building and maintaining relationships, and I ask you, if you’re family kept holding back from you how would you feel. If there were “saving their affection for a date to come some time in the future” what would you think.
Listen, they are your customers NOW! If you want to keep it that way, better not be cheap and easy, better not hold back on them or ignore them, etc. Only way to grow and profit is to keep them –
You must fight the war, fight to keep your customers, with all you’ve got – fight with your life – you will surely stay alive and it’s the only chance at actually keeping them long term and growing your business and profits.
I could go one with examples and applications.
Let me just point out, as example, Glazer-Kennedy has added just this year, in two months hundreds of dollars of valuable take action resources and marketing information, each and every month for our Members, without asking for a single penny more!
With Diamond Membership, there is now an entire new Internet Marketing Newsletter by the foremost Internet Marketing Expert in the world. They have more than doubled the content delivered monthly.
And with just regular Gold Members you have expanded online resources, a brand new Swipe and Deploy Marketing Strategy “done for you” ready to implement – now delivered each and every month.
My point is – WHY? They have tens of thousands of subscribers all of the planet happily investing $49.97 to $1497.00 monthly for their materials – why give more…
BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HOLD BACK – There is no time to hold back, because no one knows or can predict when some lost soul has a nervous break down and leaves our Membership…so better to “give it all we’ve got” now, while they’re still around!
You get the point, I am certain.
Allow me to bring this message home.
My significant other and I don’t often do the “big gifts” and stuff at certain holiday intervals because we honestly do live with the idea that EVERYDAY together is a holiday and damn special – so we cherish it and create our own Holidays.
None the less, this Saturday we all have a Holiday (which is the 2nd biggest gift Holiday in calendar year – a good friend of mine has own Hallmark Stores for 40 plus years and says it is so) Second only to the Christmas Season.
You have an opportunity this weekend, not in terms of money, but in terms of love and affection to make sure you are not holding anything back. To make sure you are leaving it all on the table, in this life, the one we’re living right now.
I encourage to reach out to your spouse, and significant other, your children, parents, anyone you should be touching and loving and sharing life and memories with. It could be the slightest gesture or grandest occasion…
Just don’t let the opportunity pass by!
Any while you’re at it – in terms of fighting this war of business and money, ask yourself
“am I going after it with all I’ve got”
“am I fighting to win”
“what am I holding back, from my customers, my prospects, my business”
The first thing you can do to get this right and fight to win is to take advantage of the things that we have right in front of us, lying around…like Holidays!
It’s still not too late, you’ve got 2 ½ days, get something out to your Herd, your customers, and prospects, go after them, they’ve got room for one more Valentine, because everybody else is asking them for money…differentiate yourself, but by no means be left out, or hold back!
Talk to you soon J

What are you doing to Stimulate ‘Your’ Economy
Posted in: Blog by scott_manning on February 3, 2009
Last week we had another successful Chapter Meeting where over 60 of our best members got together and shared ideas, networked, and took lots of notes – they left ready to implement and execute marketing and money making ideas into their businesses!
I preface my email today with that because at the last Chapter Meeting, without saying it exactly this way, shared with our members the fastest and surest way to “stimulate” the economy that you’re in right now.
There are three things, behaviors really, that will do this for you. Some of this is repetitive from previous weeks, and you’ll find that the case with most all very significant and important things in life – they REPEAT – perhaps gods way of giving us chances to get it right this time…
None the less, I’m going to give you all three, and then dedicate the rest of my Ezine to share with you several ways to stimulate your economy right now.
First – Simply take action, doing something, at our chapter meeting we talked about Massive Action, what it means and what it looks like. I gave our members 6 ways to make money now and 9 things they could do to build their lists and go out and get new customers. If you want to change your circumstances right now, no better way than to Get Moving – Do Something!
Next – It really is all about who you hang around and where you spend your time, your “Success Environment” I like to call it. And if you are looking for a Government Bailout this week, watching TV or emailing your Congressperson wouldn’t be too successful. Economic stimulation is bound to occur the same way Idea Stimulation does, around Successful People and other people chasing what you’re chasing and doing what you’re out doing. That’s the environment we bring and the Entrepreneurs we put together each and every month.
The advanced version of this Success Environment is the real Power of Association and you gain access to this through our Local Dan Kennedy Mastermind Study Group Program, for more information and to get priority placement on our waiting list email ryan@nobsindy.com directly and put Mastermind in the Subject line.
Finally – and what I’m going to dedicate the rest of this Ezine today towards is EXPOSURE TO & GATHERING OF all kinds of Information. Being Opportunistic, Aware, Assertive, Ready. Dan talked to us at the Phenomenon Workshop just over a week ago and explained one of the best ways to trigger the Phenomenon was to always be looking for opportunity and have your mind open to ideas everywhere you go.
There’s a reason why Jim Rohn’s famous quote says “Poor People Have Big TV’s Rich People Have Big Libraries!”
In fact one of my most important purposes as I say every Chapter Meeting is to be thought provoking to you, to challenge your current way of doing things, and to bring you more information than you could possibly gain exposure to on your own.
So below you’ll find several sources of profitable information and things I want to call your attention to most all free, yours for the taking…enjoy!
Until Next Week – I’m certain you’ll find enough economic stimulation, enough for a small socialist country, no doubt. Read on and discover ways to profit and devour the Recession. Win You Must!
