Murphy’s Law is multiplied many times over in the life of the entrepreneur, don’t you think?
Actually, Dan wrote about it in this month’s No B.S. Marketing Newsletter and coincidently, without any possible idea, the printer and fulfillment of the newsletter had major errors and nearly all 25,000 plus went out over 2 weeks late.
So while Dan’s monologue talked about things not going your way – GKIC experienced it…coincidence.
Without being too negative, especially since I get so many comments from all of you about how “uplifting” these emails are for you each week and how they help you to “focus”, of course being the point…I don’t want to be a downer.
However, here’s a very partial list of things Murphy’s Law takes control over with Entrepreneurs:
- everything takes longer than expect
- costs are always more than budgeted
- benchmarks are seldom hit…easily
- even after your very best efforts – customers complain
- and complain
- timing for opportunity is never perfect
- preparation is seldom truly possible
- on and on
Dan tells the story that as a professional speaker you could go weeks with no calls for bookings, and then as soon as you get one speaking engagement booked, within hours or days, someone else will call and request the very same day…and it’s usually a bigger and better gig.
Such is life.
Here’s the good news! There is a counterbalance and a control to all of this…
SUCCESS is a catch-22.
When you’ve got a lot going on and you’re doing a lot to become successful – You’re going to have more problems and let down and stresses, and frustrations…that’s just the way it is.
The other side to the coin is that you could not be doing anything…and thus have no problems and have no success.
You just have to be moving fast enough that Murphy’s Law can’t keep up.
This is the real secret to success – moving fast – doing a lot – creating a mess and cleaning it up by counting all the money laying around.
It takes practice to really immerse yourself with this philosophy but it is the key that will unlock opportunities you’ve only dreamt of.
With that said, I’ll tell you about one of our little set backs…and how you can help me fix it J
We always schedule our Chapter Meetings for the last Friday of the month, however as you know, we’ve had a lot of various things going on lately and opportunities for members. So, things got a little blurry lately, Chicago with Dan, Tony Rubleski The Mind Capture Man, growing membership, closing doors on Mastermind and multiple BIG announcements coming soon for those of you “plugged in”…anyhow, we forgot to book the Chapter Meeting in advance.
Instead of stressing out about it, mainly because I know how dedicated You, and our other members are, and that you’d respond with understanding and adjust.
Anyhow, it’s not that bad, but we’ve had to move the Chapter meeting up 1 day, to Thursday September 25th (same times, same place) – and we’ll have a double header – 10:30am and 4:00pm (which by the way was extremely successful and we thank our members for making August our best Chapter Attendance ever).
Who knows, maybe September will top August and we’ll get people who for whatever reason don’t show up on Friday to get out and about…but we’ll deal with it, because we’ve got a whole lot going on. And best of all, we work very hard to improve and solidify our relationship with you each and every month, whether we meet or not…as Michael Eisner said after 9/11 “no need to worry, we can trust our customers”
And I trust you – and appreciate your involvement.
There are some people reading this email right now, not you, perhaps – that are frustrated and worried, and confused about why they can’t seem to get ahead or get further along with their goals and objectives…but they never do anything differently, they never go anywhere to be challenged, they don’t share with other people and join forces with like minded entrepreneurs…
And just like running around the block once doesn’t make you an Olympic Athlete – attending one meeting, reading one newsletter, doesn’t make you an Olympic Entrepreneur.
Rest assured you’re in the right place and headed in the right direction…
Go now to www.nobsindy.com/chaptermeeting to register and block your calendar for a little forced focus and “you time” to work ON your business – believe me, you’ll walk away with more ammunition and things to do, Murphy ain’t got a chance against you.
Adjust for me, this one month, get there on Thursday September 25th for our Chapter Meeting, and some people always think I’m joking about this – we did run out of chairs (and handouts) last week – we’ll be cutting off registration early this month.
Go now to www.nobsindy.com/chaptermeeting and reserve your spot now while it’s fresh in your mind.

This week you’re getting the short version, because, honestly, I’m beat!
Last Friday we hosted Business Author, now friend, Tony Rubleski – and he was a real class act. Very professional, entertaining speaker, and relevant content. I want to thank all of you who attended and also for supporting the event with your promotion and inviting friends. It was a successful event for us – welcoming 10 new members.
I spent all day in the office Saturday catching up on more than a few important matters, of which I can’t recall at all, seems like a month ago.
Then I left late Saturday night for Chicago and spent the next two days, sort of relaxing. Tuesday I went all over south Chicago and high Northern corner of Indiana looking at some interesting projects. Meet with my brother Tuesday afternoon to plot out some upcoming projects and then had dinner with the Business Advisors from Green Bay and Madison Wisconsin, Tom Ribar.
Wednesday morning I welcomed our members who literally went out of their way to attend our Dan Kennedy “Fix Your Follow-up” Tour and Chapter Meet and Greet. Following that I met with another Business Advisor and my friend Kevin Kowalke from Milwaukee for about 2 hours to discuss details on a project we’re collaborating on together.
Needless to say, I am worn out…productivity will do that to you, I guess.
More importantly, the day with Dan was a blast, and like we try to do at every event, we had the most number of chapter members in attendance – ended up with around 23! Everyone who was there seemed to be very excited and thought it was well worth the trip…it was a great experience for all and I really appreciate that we have so many people who are so committed and dedicated, not just from today, but in all we are doing in Indiana – our group is growing and it because of people like You, successful entrepreneurs striving to be more successful.
That brings me to a really important point and the lesson of the week, you’ll find at the very end of this email! I’ll cover it in just a moment.
First I’d like to say that THANK YOU to everyone supporting the seminar and taking advantage of this unique opportunity. I know you found it worthwhile.
It was interesting that Dan started one of his bullet point slides with this…
“There are no simple solutions to complex problems” as reason for why most people DON’T get “follow-up” right and often fail to grow their business.
As you know I wrote about this important fact and philosophy last week. I’m going to elaborate on this and go through specific “Complex Problems” in every business and how to design “complex solutions” that will effectively plug holes in your business, where you are losing money, prospects, customers, and time – AT THE NEXT CHAPTER MEETING
Also, I’ll go into extensive detail on the “Follow-up” systems Dan touched on during his seminar.
Another thing Dan mentioned was that one of the biggest fallacies in life is that “Rich People Don’t Work Hard” – they do. Ask yourself, what else ought you be doing to speed up your progress towards your financial goals.
This month’s chapter meeting is very important for those of you wanting to get rich faster, grow your business and sustain it, you must understand with clarity the components of business success – which we’ll be discussing.
You can get the information and register at www.nobsindy.com/chaptermeeting – also you’ll notice that there is a shorter “mini-chapter” meeting available in the morning, for two reasons, people have requested it and we’ll run out of room in the evening – please rsvp now and register your guests early.
Next week, I’ll share with you some interesting experiences I had while meandering around Chicago over the past few days…
Only one reminder, and it doesn’t apply to everyone, please act quickly if it does
I’ve been getting a whole lot of questions about this year’s Info-Summit in St. Louis, and who exactly should attend and what’s it all about. We’ve got so many new members, and people delving into the Information Business, whether it’s online through the internet, or starting coaching groups, or building networking groups, or multi-level businesses, or selling any sort of information to consumers or businesses, including “how-to” information to other people in your industry, or providing some sort of service. Information Marketing Summit in St. Louis is really a life altering experience because of the advanced and in depth education you’ll get on various topics.
Perhaps even more than the actual 3 day Info-Summit, is the ONE TIME ONLY Exclusive Copywriting Bootcamp that is included free for early registrations and will be taught by Bill and Dan TOGETHER – if you don’t know much about our world, this will be history in the making.
Finally, there is Bill Glazer’s A to Z Info-Marketing Blueprint day where he outlines step by step with manuals and examples exactly how to create and grow an Information Marketing Business.
This is not for the “pretend” players, it’s for serious entrepreneurs of any experience level or income level serious about playing with the big boys and girls and not growing by “little bits” but growth by adding ZEROS to the end of your income…FAST!!!
If you still need to register or want our last minute Chapter Discount email Ryan@nobsindy.com
Also, because of all the interest, I’m thinking about doing a one-time conference call where you can ask me anything and see if this is right for you – we can get people on the fence on the phone – and go over what it is, about the experience when you’re there, investment options, whatever. If you’d find that beneficial email Ryan@nobsindy.com and we’ll look into scheduling sometime in August…it’s sure to be sold out by September, so we’ll have to get on it, to get you in.
***Lesson of the Week – And THE Reason To Be “PLUGGED In”***
Last little thought is to remind you about “ONE BIG IDEA” and how to look at information, meetings, time and effort…if you look at the average customer value in your business and then seek to get and implement ideas that will grow your business, you ask yourself how may new customers do I need to acquire to make this investment worth it. Now there are many variables that make the learning and gaining exposure to things without any direct return, immediately, but the sake of the point…if it’s a $2000 investment for something, how many customers do you need, say $200 a year value, you need 10 new customers…ONLY One Idea could easily get you 10 new customers in a WEEK, not to mention the other 51 weeks of the next year after the investment has been made… Think about this SUCCESS Principle of the Wealthiest People, they value just one idea…they aggressively seek out others and get around people like them, more successful than them, and in environments that challenge their thinking – and we all know you get more out of just about anything than just ONE IDEA.
